Seasoned Transitional Living, Inc.

The nonprofit behind Building Brighter Futures Initiative — supporting young adults as they transition to safe, stable, independent lives.

The organization

Where the mission began.

Seasoned Transitional Living, Inc. is the founding organization behind the Building Brighter Futures Initiative. Our work centers on one of the hardest, highest-stakes moments in a young person's life: the transition to independence.

For young adults leaving foster care, exiting the justice system, or facing housing instability, that transition can arrive suddenly and without a safety net. Seasoned Transitional Living exists to change that — pairing supportive housing and services with the skills, relationships, and stability young people need to stand on their own.

Brighter Futures extends that mission earlier and wider: reaching young people ages 8–24 long before a crisis, so that independence is something they grow into, not something they're pushed toward alone.

One connected continuum

Brighter Futures & Seasoned Transitional Living, together.

The two work hand in hand. Brighter Futures builds skills, confidence, and readiness across ages 8–24. Seasoned Transitional Living provides the housing and intensive support that many young adults need to put that readiness into practice.

  • A young person can move seamlessly from mentorship and job training into supportive housing.
  • Residents plug directly into Brighter Futures programs and community partners.
  • One team, one plan, one relationship that follows the young person forward.
