Questions

Volunteer FAQ

How much time does mentoring take?
Most mentors meet with their mentee about one hour per week. We ask for a consistent commitment — usually a school year — because reliability is what makes mentoring work.
Do I need experience to volunteer?
No. We provide orientation and role-specific training. What matters most is showing up consistently and caring about young people.
Is there a background check?
Yes. For the safety of the youth we serve, all youth-facing volunteers and mentors complete a background check and reference process.
Can my company or group volunteer together?
Absolutely. Group and corporate volunteer days are a great fit for events, drives, and skills-based projects. Reach out to plan one.
